Book Giveaway

I am so thrilled to have more and more people finding my blog and I've been trying to think of what I could do to give it a little bit more publicity. So I've decided to offer a book as a giveaway. I've tried to configure the rafflecopter to reward people for:
  • helping promote this blog because I'd like more readers
  • for following because I'd like you to return
  • and for getting into conversation, because ultimately I'd like have the blog a place for discussion.
The book I want to offer is called The Monty Hall Problem & Other Puzzles, and it is part of the Ivan Moscovich's Mastermind Collection. I've choosen this book because the book was part of what taught me to love exploring math. The book introduces all sorts of mathematical challenges and games such as figuring out what a triangle is in taxi-cab geometry and golomb rulers, but don't be intimidated - the book doesn't assume any prior mathematical knowledge. It's fun. It's playful. It's brightly colored.

When my children want to try to do the puzzles in our copy of this book, I put a plastic report-cover over it and hand them a dry erase marker. This way they can try as many times as necessary and they don't have to worry about marking up the book.

The giveaway starts October 8 at 12:01 EST and ends on October 22 at 12:01 EST. I will contact the winner as soon as the contest is over. The contest is open internationally.

  1. No Facebook page? Get one. That's the main thing people are going to use for Rafflecopter. It's super easy to enter that way!

I hopped over here from TMB to check out your sidebar. I believe your image links at the bottom (like your TMB vote link) should probably be lined up properly. Also, your giveaway image at the top just doesn't look good. Maybe it's in need of some transparency or an image of the actual prize? It just doesn't convey enough to me.

    Otherwise, it's lookin' good! ;)

  2. Hi Christy, Congrats on hosting your first giveaway! That looks like a fabulous book. If you put RT @MDBookReviews in one of your tweets about the giveaway, I will retweet it to my followers. I can do that daily for you if you like. Good luck! Oh, and I just realized that I am unsure as to whether the giveaway is open to Canadians/INT. You should specify that. If it is only open to the U.S., you can remove my entries, but I'm happy to help you promote the giveaway regardless! :)
