Summer Book Give-Away

I'm taking part in a book give-away! The book give-away is hosted by Mother Daughter Book Reviews. They've been giving away books all summer and have invited other blogs to join them. This blog is one of the seven blogs that volunteered to help host the last week of the give-away. The host and each of the co-hosts will be providing a list of three children's books they recommend you check out and will be donating one prize to the collection of prizes offered. The following are my recommended books and the links go to the blog-posts I wrote earlier about these books, when I was sharing the books with my children. I'm a homeschooling mother and I can't resist trying to create lessons out of absolutely anything we read, and these books provided great doorways into discussion topics.

Ozma of Oz - This is the third book in the Wizard of Oz series. (Bet you didn't know it was a series, did you?) I actually prefer this book to the first book, although the sixth book is also incredibly wonderful.

The Number Devil - a wonderful introduction to the world of recreational mathematics.

George's Secret Key to the Universe  - This book is by Lucy Hawking and her father Stephen Hawking.
