I have been energetically learning how to program in Lisp, and I have a program now that seems to be running okay on my computer but I'd love if if someone else would be willing to test it. I have added a gmail account to this blogger profile specifically so people could contact me if they'd like to try the program. The program is an art program where lines drawn appear as four mirror images of each other. The picture on this page is a quick squiggle I did within the program.
The program has the ability to shuffle the quadrants. The picture of faces was started by drawing two half-faces against the inside and then shuffling the quadrants around before drawing another two half-faces.
However, the program has some serious limitations. The largest is that at this point it can save only one picture as "mypicture.bmp." Saving a second picture will overwrite the first one. This can be avoided by manually going in and changing the name of the saved picture. The second limitation is that the program opens up the lisp-compilor. So when you click "mirrors.exe" two black windows appear. The smaller background window is the compilor, or the program running the program. Ignore it. The larger is the drawing window. If you start drawing, it draws white on a black background. The background can be changed by pressing the "b" button (instructions are on the side of the window). "Current color" is changed by clicking on the small colored circles. Pressing the escape key closes both the drawing window and the lisp compilor.
I know not many people read this, and I'm not sure anyone would be interested in trying this, but I'll ask just in case someone is interested. If you'd like to try it, send me an email with your email address and I'll send you the zip file.
